SILENT AUCTION
We welcome contributions for our Silent Auction from volunteers, local businesses and gift certificates. Popular categories are jewelry, designer accessories, electronics, tickets to sporting events, plays, performances, American Girl dolls and gift card to stores and favorite restaurants.
Please deliver all contributions to the Service Center nearest you by March 22nd, 2010.
Silent Auction Guidelines:
A successful silent auction is strategically planned. Based on the results of past events and an analysis of what items garnered the highest bids, we suggest the following priorities for auction item solicitation:
- Going Places – Gift certificates for hotel stays, weekend getaways, vacation homes, airline tickets, local cultural and tourism events.
- The Best in Entertainment – Tickets to the theater, museums, and family fun gift certificates.
- Sports Fans – Packages and memorabilia from Major and Minor League teams including Yankees, Mets, Giants, Jets, Nets, and Devils, etc. Rounds of golf at private clubs, guest passes to country clubs, golf lessons.
- High Tech – A selection of the hottest electronics items including Nintendo DSI, Kindle, Xbox, iTouch, iPod, iTunes Gift Cards, Guitar Hero, flat screen TV's, wall mount TV's. Also welcome are gift cards to Best Buy, The Apple Store and other electronic store chains.
- Don't Pass Up the Jewels – A selection of jewelry and gift certificates from Tiffany and other fine jewelers.
- Personalities Plus – Signed personalized items or services from high profile celebrities, authors.
- Luck Be A Lady – Designer handbags and accessories.
- Pamper Yourself – a selection of products and gift certificates for spa treatments and cosmetics.
- Dining Delights – Gift certificates to fine restaurants, such as Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and others with more than one location in the region.
- Kids Korner – A selection of items and gift certificates from: American Girl, Build-A- Bear, Disney, WAGGGS/World Center items, family packages for movie tickets, dinner, tickets to area museums, family attractions and cultural events.
- At Home – A selection of fine gifts for the home such as Waterford, Wedgewood, Lladro, Lenox, Lalique
